Shubman Gill the future of Indian cricket and No. 3 batter scored his fifth test century on day 3 of the first test match against Bangladesh at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Gills played crucial knock of 119 runs in 176 balls that helped India to declare their second innings score at 287/4 and setting the target of 515 runs for Bangladesh. After a disappointing knock in fist innings where he got out for a duck, gill made strong comeback in second innings.                                                                           He reached to hundred with a single to Mehidy  Hasan Miraj. Gill is now only the second Indian batter to score a century at this venue in 35 matches following a Rahul Dravid. Gill hit 10 fours and 4 sixes in his innings and formed a brilliant 167 runs stand with Rishabh Pant. pant, who is making international comeback after 2 years  also scored a century to  equaling the record of MS Dhoni for most test centuries by an Indian wicket keeper batter.  Gill also become the first batter to score a century in second innings against Bangladesh after being dismissed for a duck in the first innings. His century  places him in elite group, as he joins Rahul Dravid as the only Indian No. 3 batter  to achieve this feat at this ground. with India in strong position gills century is vital for India in securing win.
