The rare brown panda was recently captured on camera by a wildlife photographer in China’s qin ling mountains, the only place on earth where brown pandas have ever been spotted. Unlike the typical black and white giant pandas, this panda has brown and light tan fur, making it incredibly unique.

Brown pandas are extremely rare, with only a handful of sightings ever recorded. Experts believe this unusual coloring may be due to a genetic mutation or inbreeding within the isolated panda population in the qin ling region.

The panda seen in this photograph is believed to be the same one first spotted as a cub in 2009, known as Qi Zai. This stunning image is not only a treat for wildlife lovers but also an important reminder of the incredible biodiversity that still exists and the importance of protecting it.
