The 35 year Australian all rounder, Marcus Stoinis  is all set to retire from ODI format to focus on t20 cricket his decision to quit the ODI format is all came on wrong time for Australian cricket  as he was a part of incoming tournament, champions trophy take place in Pakistan and U.A.E. Marcus Stoinis beginning of career

Marcus Stoinis has ten year long career for yellow jersey of Australia that began against England in 2015 at Old Trafford, and also plays the first t20 of that tour. then he had long wait of one year to establish in Australia’s ODI team and finally got a opportunity to play against there neighborhood  country New Zealand and he plays smashing knock of 146 runs and taking the three crucial  wickets but failed to cross the victory line due to quick reflexes of skipper Kane Williamson that makes the runout to Marcus and seal the victory for host at Eden Park, New Zealand.

Marcus in his ten year long international career has played lot of ODIs and t20s but not played test cricket that much he played total 71 ODI games with the average of 27 has scored one century and 6 half centuries and take 48 wickets and in t20 game he make 1170 runs with the average of 30 runs and scored 4 half centuries and took 45 wickets. Marcus was a member of Australia’s  successful campaigns such as 2023 ODI  world cup in India and  2021 T20 world cup in U.A.E. and plays a fine knock against Pakistan in semi-final.

He also played in t20 franchisee’s all over the world starting from there country’s  own league big bash league he was first picked by a Perth scorcher’s his hometown team for replacing Mitchell Marsh and now he is a part of his current team, Melbourne stars and captain of the team also.  He also  picked in the IPL by Delhi Daredevils in the 2015 IPL edition and then picked by the team king’s xi Punjab in 2016 season with INR 5.5 million and also achieve career best figures 4/15 against Mumbai Indians then he was added to RCB and played beautifully  for them also and now he is with Lucknow super giants for the upcoming season.

The 35 year after being asked about his decision he said “Playing ODI cricket for Australia has been an incredible journey, and I’m grateful for every moment i have had in the green and gold. representing my country at the highest level is something is always cherish. this was not an easy decision, but i believe it’s the right time for me step from ODIs and fully focus on the next chapter of my career. I will be cheering the boy’s  on in Pakistan.”
